Kingfisher GuestHouse
has eight individually decorated, air-conditioned guestrooms, in which we can
comfortably accommodate a total of 12 guests. We regret that no person under the age of 16
years can be accommodated.
Situated in the
upmarket beach front suburb of Summerstrand, Port Elizabeth, Kingfisher
GuestHouse is the ideal base for both local and international tourists,
academia, and corporate visitors to the Friendly City. Individually decorated,
en-suite rooms with private entrances and patios in tranquil surroundings, offer
a base where business travellers can unwind after a day at the office, be spoilt
with a superb breakfast, and can easily access the centre of Port Elizabeth, and
the Port Elizabeth International Airport. Whether for registration or
graduation, or for attending one of the many international conferences hosted
annually, students, their parents, and academics from all over the world, use
Kingfisher GuestHouse as a haven from where they attend activities at both the
North and South Campuses of the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University (NMMU).
Leisure travellers, who either start or end
their trip along the N2 Coastal Route between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth via
the internationally renowned Garden Route of South Africa, use Kingfisher
GuestHouse as a base for experiencing many of the Eastern Cape of South Africa’s
well-known gems. A leisurely 400 meter stroll takes one to the famous Pollock
Beach, and the Summerstrand Village Shopping Centre. The Boardwalk Casino
Complex, Humewood Links Golf Course, Hobie Beach and Shark Rock Pier where the
annual Splash Festival and International Ironman SA Triathlon take place, are
just minutes away by car. For the sun seekers, Port Elizabeth’s Blue Flag
Beaches, Kings Beach and Humewood Beach, as well as the Mac Arthur Baths, are a
stone’s throw away. Shopaholics can indulge in the luxuries on offer at Bay West
Mall, Walmer Park, and Greenacres Shopping Centre, all within easy reach from
Kingfisher GuestHouse.
Whether for surfing,
sailing, yachting, windsurfing, kite surfing, hiking, bungee jumping, or a
safari where the Big 5 can be experienced, visits to Jeffreys Bay, St Francis
Bay, Storms River and Tsitsikamma, the Addo Elephant National Park, Seaview Lion
Park, Kragga Kamma Game Reserve, and various other private game reserves in the
area, make for easy day excursions.
Your hosts, Cilliers and Henk, invite you to the
result of the craziest, most irrational, and totally uncharacteristic decision
taken in 2005. Hailing from the world of engineering and academia, and with
absolutely no experience in the hospitality industry, the two of us set out on
the adventure of a lifetime, with nothing but a little capital, and enormous
passion. Today, more than a decade later, we are still the owner-managers of
Kingfisher GuestHouse. Our dedication to professional and personalised service,
has resulted in Kingfisher GuestHouse being one of the top accommodation
establishments in Port Elizabeth. We invite you to our home, our dream, and our
own piece of paradise. Come experience the city’s friendliness!
